The magic number 9.5:

The number 9.5 in the percentage calculation is not a magic number. This is derived using following formula:

Percentage = (10 x GP) - (GP/2)

Percentage = GP(10 – 1/2)

Percentage = GP(9.5) = 9.5 x GP.

Hope this will clear students confusion.
