### CBSE Class X Result 2010 – How to Calculate Percentage

Today, CBSE Board, India declared class X result for year 2010. But here is a catch – this year they changed the rating from numbers to grades. Most of the students are apparently confused how to get percentage from their GPA.

## How to convert CGPA to Percentage

Here is the simple method to  convert GPA into percentage:

Percentage = 9.5 × CGPA

Example:

CGPA = 6.8

Percentage = 9.5 x CGPA = 9.5 x 6.8 = 64.60%

The percentage calculated by this manner is the overall percentage.

## How to convert GP to Percentage

Here is the simple method to calculate percentage from GP:

Percentage = 9.5 x GP

Example:

GP = 06

Percentage = 9.5 x 6 = 57.6%.

The percentage calculated in this manner is the percentage in that particular subject.

## SUBJECT WISE GRADE POINT:

 Marks Range Grade Grade Point Percentage 91-100 A1 10 95% 81-90 A2 9 85.5% 71-80 B1 8 76% 61-70 B2 7 66.5% 51-60 C1 6 57% 41-50 C2 5 47.5% 33-40 D 4 38% 21-32 E1 - - 20-0 E2 - -

### The magic number 9.5:

The number 9.5 in the percentage calculation is not a magic number. This is derived using following formula:

Percentage = (10 x GP) - (GP/2)

Percentage = GP(10 – 1/2)

Percentage = GP(9.5) = 9.5 x GP.

Hope this will clear students confusion.
